Delivering Results with Consistency and Reliability

I am energized by stepping into challenges where no solution is obvious but where getting results are critical. As my colleagues will tell you, I am known for being consistently trusted to deliver on large, complex problems.

Project Management

Leading technical projects is one of my core strengths. I have led numerous data-intensive, software engineering initiatives over more the 20 years, including projects across NASA Astrophysics and at the international level with multiple organizations.

Program Management

I am the co-lead for the Mikulski Archive for Space Telescopes, the largest archive of astrophysical data run by NASA. We host more than 4 petabytes of data from 30 space missions going back nearly 40 years. I oversee our work to leverage the Cloud.

Cross-Functional Team Leadership

I have nearly a decade of experience in staff management, including overseeing professional development and annual reviews. I was in the trenches as an Agile Product owner and started some of the earliest Agile Scrum teams in our organization.

Communication and Connection

Results are meaningless if we do not understand the bigger story. I clearly articulate my work to stakeholders and value putting it in context. Giving talks, writing grants, and meeting with stakeholders is a routine part of my job.

Your Data At-Scale

Leveraging the power of the commercial cloud is more than Big Data and storage. I oversee the development of JupyterHub-based Science Platforms: web-based portals to streamline data availability and acclerate science.

My Background

Before joining STScI, I was a postdoctoral fellow at Haverford College and completed my astronomy Ph.D. at Indiana University. I worked in IT services at a small liberal arts college for several years, setting a foundation for my professional success.
